Could Vertical Shaped Lump Above Bellybutton Be A Hernia?

i have just found a vertical shaped lump just above my bellybutton it isnt sore but my husband said he could see it...9yrs ago i had my gall bladder removed and in so doing stiched my bellybutton pulling the stomach skin in so it looks different..was wondering could this be a hernia...Regards louise
