Could You Prescribe The Best Dosage Regimen To Bring Down The Fever Due To Mumps And Swollen Glands?

Hi there
My niece has been diagnosed with mumps. she has a fever of 39.2 and has swollen glands.
Please prescribe the best dosage regimen for her to bring the fever down using ponstan and panado. She is 5 yrs old. what additional things can I do to bring her fever down asap. I have been songing her down, but it is not helping. Please advise asap.

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Ponstan is given in a dose of 10 mg/kg 3 times daily.
Panadol dose is 15 mg/kg every 6-8 hourly.
In addition you may do tepid sponging several times depending on the need.
Mumps is a self limiting disease and no antibiotic is needed.
