Crippling Pain In Chest After Drinking Chilled Sierra Mist. Had Stomach Ulcers. Suggestions?

Hi, first off i am a 22 year old male. today I was at work and wrapping up a 12 hour shift I drank some chilled Sierra mist from a can. I immediately felt a severe crippling pain in my chest and it felt like something was very wrong. I've been diagnosed in the past win depression and more recently I've had problems with stomach ulcers caused by stress and smoking. I eat spicy food pretty often and I'm wondering if I have a ulcerous lieson in my upper esophagus. The pain has occurred a few times in the past, all directly after drinking a liquid. I don't have any money for a doctor or tests of any sort so it would be helpful to hear some tips I could use to heal them on my own.

Hello,
You are stressed, have been diagnosed as depressive nature, you eat spicy food and smoke. I assume that your diet habits are irregular because of your work nature, which might have led to gastric ulcer. The drink you had is having carbonated water and citric acid. Both induce high acidity in the stomach causing severe crippling pain in the chest.
You are very young, but as you have acidity you have to abide by certain instructions strictly for a long time (decided by the way you express your complaints)
Frequent bland diet (Biscuits and not very hot diluted milk/plenty of water in between your regular meals instead of this acidic drink (these drinks can be used as stain remover) and a minimum of 7 to 8 hrs sleep/day is advised.
A routine ECG if needed
Avoid spicy food (fast food), hot drinks including alcohol, smoking, stress and depression in whatever way possible.
Take Antacids, anti spasmodic and anti Flatulence (Anti Gas) + anti depressants (only if your Dr advises you considering your nature of work).
If you take alcohol do one blood test called serum amylase and USG abdomen to rule out a condition called Pancreatitis (only if the your symptoms persists after treatment)
If you change your attitude towards life and changing the life style you can recover totally. These changes you have to continue forever.
All my very best wishes

Welcome to health care Magic. You appear to be having severe oesophagitis secondary to GERD.The cold soda can aggravate the reflux causing acute pain.A upper GI endoscopy will help diagnose the problem.Use of Sucralfate and PPIs has been found to be helpful in such conditions.
