Dark Brown Spot Above Upper Lip. What Is It, How To Cure It?
I have recently noticed (or rather my husband noticed first and pointed it out) a small dark spot above my upper lip. It is slightly raised and a darker brown color (I am fair with red hair and freckles). I would say it looked like a large freckle except that is raised. After a few hours it went away. It has happened a few times. It happened again tonight. No other symptoms - itching, redness, etc. Just slightly raised and brown. Have you ever seen/heard of this and should I go to the derm?
Hi Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum and thanks for your query.
Looks like you have developed a lesion of papular urticaria. Papular urticaria is a peculiar allergic response characterized by a sudden onset of raised lesions on exposed areas of the body. The disease is provoked by an insect bite mostly a mosquito bite. You need to apply an antibiotic/steroid combination cream over the lesion twice a day. Take oral antihistamine like levocetrizine once a day to decrease the itching.
Do not use any moisturizer or oils till the time the lesion heals .
Hope it helps Wishing you speedy recovery Dr Geetika Paul
