Degenerative Joint Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis. Had Spinal Fusion. Treated With Methotrexate And Sulfasalazine. Wil Knees Get Better?

I am a 58 year old female, located in Chesapeake, VA. Degenerative Joint Disease first detected at the age of 23; advanced by 33 years old. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis being treated with Enbrel, Methotrexate, and Sulfasalazine. My pain is constant; luckily, I have a very high tolerance to pain; but, when I say I hurt, you know it’s real. I have a left knee that has been replaced 3 times, the right knee once; both shoulders have been under arthroscopic repair more times than I can remember; my spine is fused in two places, my neck in one, all under different surgeries; both hands are weak and are in pain 70% of the time. My Orthopedic Doctor, Glen Nichols, took care of my knees and shoulders; my back and neck surgeon, Dr. Michael J. Barnum. Both Doctors are no longer available to me; and, since their loss, I have not been to a Doctor. My left knee is failing fast and I know it is in need of repair. There are not very many Doctors that take Mail Handlers Insurance. I’m looking for specialists in both fields that I can trust to take me through the rest of my life.

FOr Rheumatoid arthritis you need a specialist rheumatologist to manage the progression of the disease and also the age related degenerative Arthralgias. Dont self medicate your self. It will do more harm than good.
Try some daily hydroxychloroquine 200 mg a day. It will help . Consult the rheumatologist for better help and assistance.
