Detected Pregnancy, Sac Not Being Seen Followed By Cramps And Bleeding, Passing Tissue Clots. Suggested Little Rise In Hgc Levels. Miscarriage Or Ectopic Pregnancy?
I went to the E.R a week ago due to abdominal pain and found out that I was pregnant. Doctors say that it can be an early pregnancy due to the sac not being seen, well two days later I started having really bad cramps and heavy bleeding and passed some tissue clots. Went back to the E.R and was told that my hgc levels were rising but not how they should. Can this be a very early pregnancy or an ectopic pregnancy. Pls help I'm so confused I honestly thought I had a miscarriage.
Hi, Thanks for consulting us. This is actually a grey area in early pregnancy problems. Both diagnoses i.e. ectopic pregnancy, an incomplete or complete miscarriage are possibilities. Tests that can help to differentiate are serial hCG measurements & transvaginal ultrasound. You need continuous observation till ectopic pregnancy is ruled out. Wish you good health.
