Developed Rash All Over Body. Had Stopped Taking Generess And Used Prednisone. No Relieve. Cause?
I developed a rash all over my body (except for my face) a month and a half ago. Originally we thought it was an allergic reaction to my new birth control (generess fe) so I stopped taking it and was put on a 6 day step down pack of prednisone. It did nothing for my rash. The itching and burning is unbearable and the rash is as bad, if not worse than it was when I started the prednisone. Any ideas what could be causing this? I've gone down a list of other things that may have changed (soap, lotion, detergent, etc) with my husband at least 10 times and nothing had changed. I even use the free and clear detergents and dryer sheets.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. This is coincidence that you have taken new birth control and rashes appeared . In my opinion this is an urticaria . So please get in blood for eiosiophils count. Worm infestation may be the other cause. Allergy to some unknown allergen may be the one reason. Consult a physician and get his opinion as physical examination is very important. Good luck. Dr. HET
