My dad aged 73 yrs is a diabetic patient for past 21 yrs suffering from insomania for past 6 months. He was taking nitrovit 10 he slept in the night but he was unable to sleep in the afternoon & was having heaviness in the head. His diabetologist changed to nexito 10 & told him the problem was due to anxiety. He is on nexito 10 from yesterday but he was unable to sleep properly & he has heaviness in his head also. Today morning he is feeling the same situation can he switch over to nitrovit 10. Your advice would be valuable. Thanks Priya

HI Priya
Thank for asking to HCM
Diabetic patients always has some kind of health problem particularly in geriatric age group, it is important to watch blood sugar status frequently, developing of sudden hypoglycemia is common phenomenon in this age, get it done HbA1c test if not done, this test will show the average control of diabetes and any underlying diabetic pathology, giving sleep pills in this age is not at all advisable, sleep patrons greatly changed in this age regardless the diabetes, good nursing care and moral support would be much better medicine than any other one, spend more time with your father this will bring his sleep back without any pill, take very good care of your father, convey my Namskar to him.
