Complete Placenta previa diagnosed at 11 week pregnancy by spotting. At 27 week brownish clot for 2 days then pink spotting after TVS done & travelling by road .USG showed lower margin reaching the os at 27week.but TVS done at 26 week revealed 1.8 cms away from os..how is this possible?what is the chance of normal delivery?
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.
As the pregnancy progresses, and as the wall of the uterus thins out and increases in size, the placenta will appear to "move". At term, it needs to be at least 2cm away from the cervix to have a safe vaginal birth. This appears to be the case. The chance of a normal delivery is quite high. You need to have an ultrasound every 4 weeks to assess growth and placental location.
I hope that this helps and thank you for visiting this site!
