Diagnosed Hypothyroidism, Taking Synthroid, Symptoms Persist. On Vivelle Dot For Premature Ovarian Failure. Further Treatment?
Hi, I am a 64 yo woman, who has been on Vivelle Dot for over 20 yrs. due to premature ovarian failure at age 27. I had a complete hysterectomy in 1997 due to hypovolemic hemorrhage….hemoglobin of 4. About 6 months ago I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and am now taking 50mcg Synthroid/day. Some s/s have subsided but still loosing hair and weight isn't back to normal…over weight by about 5 lbs. I don't feel like the PA I see understands the interaction of Synthroid and Estrogen. Should I see a endocrinologist or a GYN/Endocrinologist or an Internist to help with a better treatment plan. Thanks for your input. Fran
Hi, as you had a hypovolemic condition wit hemoglobin of 4 there might be no recovery of general health, or a recurance of the ill health. I advise you to take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and proteine rich foods. I also advise you to consult an endocrinologist for excluding the interaction between the harmons. Thank you.
