I have been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation but now my last ECG showed that I have a very irregular heart beat--I have stopped caffein since Nov. but still have 3 to 4 drinks a day over about 4 to 5 hours--in the middle of last night I woke up with a rapid heart rate that I could feel in my chest--today I took my blood pressure and heart rate and it was 111 over 67 and a heart rate of 84--my resting heart rate is usually between 50 and 56--I am 71 but workout every day so I am very fit--it also showed afib--should I stop drinking any alcohol??? I see a cardiologist again on June 17th!!
Sir the alcohol is basically causing you this problem. The irregularity in your heartbeat is because of this only. Caffeine is also not good for you. It would be nice if you stop alcohol totally. Occassionally you can take alcohil but in less amount. Try staying away from alcohol. Take care
