Diagnosed With Cardiomyopathy. Variation In BPM Of Upper And Lower Heart Chambers. What Could This Be?

Hi, my 54 yr old husband was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy (2007) & he was in afib until about 8 wks ago when he suddenly fell backwards to the floor. When he finally did see his pcp she told him he more than likely suffered a sudden death & the fall may have been hard enough to restart the heart.Im dragging him with his V.A.app in the morning to the V.A office at least, the question is (I'm sorry:) he was told his upper chamber is at 90 bpm & his lower is at 70 bpm what may be going on ? Thank you so much, His wife of 30 yrs Shelly

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

It means affection of the nerves (conduction system) of the heart
A new reason, the initial disease process or even drugs may be responsible
He will need a few additional investigations for evaluation
The treating doctor alone can suggest further based on his assessment of the situation.

Good luck
Take care
Wishing all well
God bless
