Diagnosed With Hurthle Cell Variant Of Papillary Thyroid Cancer, Low WBC Count. Help?
Hi, I have been diagnosed with Hurthle cell variant of Papillary Thyroid Cancer , surgery is next week to remove gland and parathyroid , question is I am worried about metastisis into bone and other areas as they beleive it has invaded lymph nodes alrready. My WBCs have always been around 8 or 9 but the past month, are now 4.0.
Papillary thyroid cancer, usually spreads to lymph node and it is very unlikely for a papillary cancer to spread to bone. If you are worried about bone metastasis a bone biopsy or a whole body iodine scan can help.Even if there has been a metastasis, you would require radioactive iodine treatment after surgery and nothing much to be worried.
