Hi i am 39yr old female newly dx with RA seronegative although I must admit I had been dx some years ago but I was just thinking I dont have RA well this year it hit me like a ton of bricks in bed for 3 days sometimes due to the pain and swelling my hands are horrible they look like a 90 year old alnog with other joint deformities. Well I guess my ? Is since started methotrexate 5 pills now weekly its been 3 months. I definitely notice less swelling maybe from Celabrex but I cant take this extreme n I mean extreme fatigue and pain.ihave 3 small girls sometimes I just cant get out of bed. I cant eat cant sleep is this a normal side effect? I know eventually my Rheum dr is going to do a biologic but I just cant take it anymore does it ever get better. Thanks for your time Joanna
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Methotaxate is a very potent drug in many disease but this drug have plenty of side effects as, ulceration of the mouth, nausea, vomiting, bone marrowdepression, osteoporosis (depletion of calcium in bones ,hence there may be pain all over body as in your case, you are feeling), arthralgia ( joint pain), renal disease , hepatic impairment . So most of symptoms in your case may be due to methotraxate , so consult your treating physician and get his opinion. Lemon juice with warm water will give you relief at least after use of 1 month. Two lemon juice on empty stomach , don't take salt or sugar with this juice. Good luck. Dr. HET
