Diagnosed With Rheumatic Fever. ASO Titer Has Come Down. How To Further Lower The Numbers?
I was diagnosed with Rheumatic Fever back in March after suffering intense joint pain. Never had a cough or sore throat and in fact have never had strep. My latest ASO titer came is at 481, down from 742 in March. I know everything I have read says it can take 6-12 months for levels to return to normal. This is delaying the start of a family for us as I was told the possibility of miscarriage would be higher. I will be 35 in February, so I am a little worried. Is there anything I can do to help lower the numbers?
hello there! Thank you for asking. ASO titre predisposes a person for different troubles and need care and monitoring. ASO titre fall depends upon recurrences. If they dont recur or sore throat or skin stayph does not intervene i am sure 6 to 2 months would be enough to recover. But pregnancy will increase the odds of its complications like carditis or arthritis or chorea. SO you need to be constantly monitored by GP gynecologist, Rheumatologist, and Fertility consultants to be on the safer road.
Good luck S khan
