Diagnosed With Auto Immune Disorder, Taking Medrol, Oxycotin, Seen No Improvement. What To Do ?

I have been diagnosed with an auto immune disorder and have been taking Medrol and Oxycotin for five years. I have seen no improvement and I am extremely tired of feeling terrible. Symptoms include swelling of hands and feet, joint pain, high SED rate and C reactive protein. Shoulder pain, behind knees, elbows and hands. Extremely depressed, faint, insomnia and I feel so hot all the time that I feel that I will catch on fire. Headaches and constipation, neck is swollen along with my face. I have had two back surgeries that have failed. I don't know where to turn or what specialist to see regarding this. I just know that I cannot continue to take all these medications. I feel like they are bandaids and no one can properly diagnose my problem

Thanks for the question.
Auto-immune disorders are time consuming to arrive to definitive treatment. You may seek help of a rheumatologist for re-assessment. If the phenomena is highly active, then corticosteroids and newer drugs might be needed (biologics etc) Biologics are pretty expensive and Your insurance should be there to cover it.Your rheumatologist might ask for more specific tests to see the auto-immune activity and advise treatment accordingly. Do not lose hope as new biologics are helpful in containing the active process of the disease.
