Diagnosed With Corneal Ulcer By Ophthalmologist. On Besivance. Eye Is Irritating. Not Healing. Side Effects?
Hello, I was diagnosed with a corneal ulcer three days ago by my ophthalmologist. He prescribed Besivance, one drop every hour. My eye has become very irritated and does not seem to be healing. All the literature I have read states to take Besivance no more than 3 times a day. Even the pharmacist questioned the amount as she noticed that my eye had worsened when I returned the next day to fill a pain medication prescription. Is this Besivance dosage doing more harm than good? Thank you
The rapidity of recovery depends on the type of ulcer, the intensity and for how long this ulcer has been existing. I also believe the dosage of the drug was too much than usual,. You might need to consult your doctor for review of change of the drug. However, you might have to be a bit patient with high ulcers for the healing at times might take some time. However, reviewing the dosage and administration of Besivance with your doctor is mandatory especially under these circumstances.
Thanks and kind regards.
