Diagnosed With Mycobacteria. Coughed 4 Mouthfuls Of Blood. Scope And Embolitic Procedure Done. On Cipro. Can I Continue With Medicament?
I have been diagnosed with mycobacteria last Sept. (sputum culture) Sept 2012. No treatment was prescribed at that time. In April 2013 I coughed 4 mouthfuls of blood and went to ER and admitted to hosp. Scope and embolitic procedure done the next day followed by scope the next day. Started on 500mg cipro 2xday. Returned to Me from MS and pulmonary doctor there wanted sputum cultures so advised to d/c cipro. No word of culture result and wonder if I should go back on the cipro?
Hi Dear Welcome to the health care magic Dear friend If you were diagnosed in sept 2012 by sputum cultureMycobacteria positive, In my opinion you should have been immediately started Anti tubercular treatment. Foe not putting you under ATT I have no reason.
You must have under gone lot of investigation after a bout of Hemoptysis, like CXR CBC, ESR etc if the report of these investigation would have been given in the query then i might have been able to guide you better. Please consult pulmonologist immediately for further advice.
Hope your query is answered
Thanks
