Diagnosed With Polymyalgia Rheumatic, Taken Prednisone. How Long One Can Take Prednisone? Any Alternative?
my husband has been diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatic and has taken prednisone for many years. His skin is very thin and easily injured and he is also in quite a bit of pain. How long can you take prednisone and are there any other products that would work better and without the bad side effects?

Prednisolone is a steroid , long term treatment has many side effects , as one you are already suffering from that is thin skin.
I suppose , prednisolone can be slowly tapered , and other drug can be tried like etoricoxib , Hydroxychloroquine.
I advise you to discuss with your doctor , to give a trial to taper and stop steroid.
