Diagnosed With Shingles, On Methylpred, Clindamycin. Can I Add Mometasone For Itching?
HI I had shingles 4 years ago and when healed I went in for the vaccine. Today I was diagnosed with shingles again. I am on Methylpred, Clindamycin, and Acyclovir. May I add Mometasone 1.1% for the itching? I forgot about it when I was with the DR.
Hi, Thanks and welcome to HCM. You may use Mometasone 1% ointment locally. but you may better take cetrizine orally for relief of itching. You may better apply lignocaine or xylocaine local ointment, a local anaesthetic for relief of pain. Hope this answer will serve your pupose. Please feel free to ask any more queries.
