Diagnosed With Stage 4 Lung Cancer Spread To Bones, Have Low Appetite. What Is The Prognosis?

We just came from my fathers cancer appt, lung ca stage 4 which we were informed today has spead now to several areas of the bones. He is to have MRI of brain and cervical area followed by radiation next week. We are trying to prepare do you know how long we are looking at? He is down to 128 pounds and not eating either. Thanks

Its a tough situation for you I guess but you should not loose hope.
Will power is the best medicine cancer patients have to fight longevity.

Coming to your specific question, Lung cancer stage 4 is medically a stage where the patient pain is alleviated using palliative care and support. Under optimum conditions, and with lots of support and positive will power, a patient could live for 6 months to a year.
