Diagnosis That Stomach Is Flipped Or Upside Down. Have Diarhea, Upset Stomach. Is This Serious ?
I had a diagnosis 18 months ago involving my stomach being either flipped or upside down. I take over the counter medication for the acid issues which always seems to help. For the past three days I've had diarrhoea and a feeling of an upset stomach. Also feeling very anxious and irritable. Not sure what is going on and I'm hoping it just goes away on it's own. Just want to make sure it's nothing more serious that would warrant immediate attention.
Hello, Welcome to Healthcaremagic. From your Query i understood that you have Gastric volvulus. You are taking medications for acid reflux and epigastric pain. Currently 3 days of Diarrhoea and stomach upset may not be related to your chronic gastric volvulus. I think it may due to infection. I think you have infectious diarrhoea due to food poisoning. Please do Stool examination for ova and cysts and stool culture for any bacterial infection. Take proper antibiotics and antiprotozoals after investigation reports. Take plenty of water and electrolytes to avoid dehydration. Meantime empirically take ofloxacin 300 mg twice daily and metronidazole 250 mg 4 times daily. Hope this helps. Take care
