Discomfort In Bottom Of Foot. Stiffness, Throbbing Pain
Two days ago my foot started to irritate me. The first day i just shrugged it off and didnt think much of it. The second day i could feel pressure on the top bottom of my foot near the big toe; but still no big pain so I ignored it. Today(my job includes walking alot, and i run 4 miles regularly)halfway through the day the bottom top of my foot felt like something was torn inside of it. Everytime id take a step and accidentaly flex/curl the second toe next to my big toe itd feel as if there was a tearing sensation and id feel a bit of pain. Also its stiff and it hasnt stopped throbbing.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
You might suffering from plantar fasciitis. It is caused by straining the ligament that supports your arch. Repeated strain can cause tiny tears in the ligament.
I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination.
Meanwhile give your feet a rest. Cut back on activities that make your foot hurt. Try not to walk or run on hard surfaces.
To reduce pain and swelling, try putting ice on your bottom of foot. Or take an over-the-counter pain reliever like ibuprofen.
