Discomfort In The Chest. Heart Related? Had An Indigestion And Gas Problem

Hello Doctor, I a, 24 years old male student. Very recently I have started feeling a very mild sensation in the region above my left breast . (above the nipple and shoulder ) It s very mild, persistent and a little bit discomforting. What can it be? Can it be related to heart? I would like to mention that I had an indigestion and gas problem 3 days back. And this sensation has been there for I think about the same time. Should I be visiting a doctor. Thank you.

Hello Misraji,

A discomfort between your left nipple and shoulder is NOT likely to be related to heart disease as a 24-years-old male. Severe chest pain, located in the center of the chest, over lower end of the breast bone (sternum) needs to be regarded as very significant. Such pain due to reduced blood supply to the heart spreads (radiates) to your arms or back. Heart disease pain is brought on by physical or emotional exertion and relieved by rest.

It seems the discomfort you are experiencing may be related to your indigestion. Without any hurry, you could discuss this point the next time when you meet your doctor.

Hope you get over your problem soon. Thanks a lot for using healthcaremagic.com

At your age it is unlikely to have cardiac pain although not impossible. Also the fact that it has been present for 3 days also supports this. You should start some anti gastritis medications.

However, a visit to the doctor where an ecg and some blood tests will confirm if it is heart realted.
