Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello my name is Jacob. I have had chest pain for a couple days now. It started the other night with a feeling of rapid heartbeat, when I looked at my chest I could see the heart ad if it were beating out of my chest. That subsided but, has been replaced by chest pains that do not stop and go from dull to sharp randomly. I have been on andro-gel for several months and my urologists has warned me about increased hemoglobin levels as a side effect. I also had a bout with MRSA that required me to take Zyvox which cleared up the infection but, I had to stop taking it two weeks early because of intense chest pain and heart palpitations. My doctor said it must have been toxic to me. I am 32 years 6'3" and weigh 230 lbs. I have a normal cholesterol levels. Should I go the E.R. if this pain continues, it has been more than two days and the discomfort never stops.
Your pain does not seem to be of cardiac source and it may be due to musculoskeletal pain but I suggest visiting the ER and having an ECG done which may help in putting a diagnosis. Having muscle relaxants and reducing your anxiety can help a lot. If the pain did not go away you need to be visited by a cardiologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mohammad Mostafa Ansari Ramandi, Cardiologist
