Dizziness After Being Hit On The Head. Is It Normal?

Hi I banged my head and cut it open about an inch 3days ago and have been to see a doctor who said just take it easy and rest but yesterday and this morning I keep going really dizzy we. I get out of bed I just thought I would be feeling better rather than feeling more dizzy is this common to happen after a bang to the head ...Vanessa

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

First of all, I would like to reassure you that your symptoms do not suggest any serious head injury.

It is fairly common to have dizziness after mild head injuries, which tends to get aggravated with change of head position and movements of body.

This is self limiting in nature and subsides on it own in a few days. If the dizziness is very troublesome, you could take betahistine tablets.
