Dizziness, Lethargy. Taking Adderall. Reason?

I attend a military college and average about 4 hours of sleep during the week. This weekend was an open weekend to do whatever and go out. I slept till about 9pm on saturday, in and out of a restful sleep. I woke up first at about 1pm and felt dizzy and out of it, I could not do anything or felt the motivation to do anything. I fell asleep at about 1 saturday night, woke uo at about 1pm sunday. I was lazy and dizzy and barely had enough energy to move to get lunch. I cam back and just slept. I woke up at about 530pm and forced myself to move and start my work for monday. I take adderall normally but did not take any this weekend. When I woke up today (sunday) I took one at around 530pm so I could actually not feel this lazy and lethargic. Why did I feel this sleepy and lethargic if I got so much sleep this weekend?

Hi there,

Thanks for your query. You have apparently developed dependent on Adderall. Please remember that the drug is ALWAYS tapered off gradually, when it is no longer required.

Hence, abrupt cessation following prolonged high dosage administration results in extreme fatigue and mental depression. The experience that you had was certainly due to abrupt withdrawal of the drug.

In future, do NOT skip a dose/stop suddenly. Consult your doctor who will advise you if you really need to take Adderall for the undisclosed ailment.
