I stopped taking birth control in April in hopes of starting a family. I've been charting my basal body temperature but have not seen a "spike" in temperature. According to the calendar, I should start my period today. However, I have not started but my ovaries have hurt me all day. What could this be?
Menstruation can occur at any time within or after 7 days of expected. It is completely normal. The temperature spike is reassuring that you are ovulating. The pain you are experiencing must be premenstrual. If you do not get your period within next week, please do a home pregnancy test.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
