Do Exercises Help In Reducing Blood Pressure?

I am 33 years old and weigh 97 Kg ( a little over weight for my 184.5 cm height). I had a medical check up this morning and my BP was 163/93. This is almost (is is already) Stage 2 Hypertension. I have a very stressful job and have a few personal things adding to the stress.
Will exercising lower my blood pressure enough. I have recently (2 weeks) ago started exercising to get back to half marathon fitness I was 3 years ago before the job change. I am look at getting my weight back down to 87kg as well.
I do not eat a lot of red meat and eat main fruit, vegetables and cereal from Monday to Friday and eat normal Western diet on Sat and Sun.
