Do Gall Stones Cause High WBC Count, Diarrhea And Anal Pressure?
Since Feb 26, I've had diarrhea or very loose stools. Last weekend (a week later) my right side was tender so I went to the dr who ran tests and sonogram and the sonogram came back with gallstones. The bloodwork came back with a high white blood cell count. I'm still waiting on the stool results. I've had a low grade fever 99-100.2 for over a week. I have pressure on my tailbone and anus. Could all these symptoms be related to the gallstones or could it be somwthing in addition to?
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Gall stones may cause some abdominal discomfort including abdominal cramps, diarrheas, nausea or vomit but it should not cause anal pressure of any kind. High wbc count is usually sign of infection or inflammation and it may be elevated if there is acute inflammation of gallbladder but is is usually associated with pain under right rib cage. If you dont have it then you should look for another cause of fever such as enterocolitis and stool analysis results are required or this. Later, you can consult surgeon about surgery need, but you should not rush with it. I hope I have answered your query. Wish you good health.
