Do I Need A Cholesterol Lowering Medication If It Is Deranged?
Hi!
Do I need to go on Cholesterol lowering medication? I am 42. I am a group fitness instructor (5'2", 120lbs). I have a strong family history of heart attacks/high cholesterol. I just had my blood taken. My results: Total Cholesterol-233/HDL-64/LDL-154/Trigl-75. I eat very healthy (fruits & veggies, almonds, oatmeal). It looks like I may have to go on medicine. I just don't know when......
LDL is bad cholesterol – lower, the better / 100 (in ischemia, 70) is the aim. Need Life style changes - weight to normal / No tobacco or alcohol / Diet and exercise - but have modest effect only Your level is very high and could not be controlled by these alone. It is also manufactured in the liver, determined by heredity You certainly NEED drugs Start NOW Statin is the first choice.
