Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Caught a cold about a week ago. Started in my chest and then went to the head, primarily into my ears which feel congested and blocked with hearing loss. No real pain but they won't "pop". About 6 days of this now. Will it just go away or do I need antibiotics or something?
your prime concern now should be on your hearing loss as it is not always seen with the cold attack. You must see an ENT specialist as early as possible to diagnose the underlying cause related to hearing loss and to start the treatment. No you need not to take antibiotics for the cold now as most probably it will go by its own or you can take anti-cold over the counter tablets. But it will be best to visit an ENT surgeon as early as possible.
