Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I thought originally that I might have shingles but my symptoms don t really match. Periodically I will have itching to my right upper arm. It feels like there are a few spots where the nerve endings are wanting to come thru my skin. And I ll develop small round sores. Not a lot, just a few. My old doctor just wrote it off as dry skin and gave me a prescription for itching. This does not help only makes me sleep. The itching seems to be worse at night.
This sounds more like a yeast infection than shingles. Shingles usually causes an intense burning pain and blisters. It is usually just on one side of the body and follows a nerve route.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Kathy Robinson, General & Family Physician
