Do Kidney Failure, Unresponsiveness And Low Lung Capacity Indicate A Terminal State?

My brother has had COPD for years with 22% lung capacity. He was hospitalized 6 days ago. He is non-responsive and in kidney failure. The doctors are using dialysis. He is 85 years old and stopped smoking 30 years ago. I am in TX and he is in FL - is this the beginning of the end?I am always hopeful.

Hello dear Greetings
Don't worry this this is not the beginning of the end regarding your brother's chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is attributed to his previous smoking habit this has destroyed large chunk of his lung tissues

Moreover following his diagnosis of kidney disease with dialysis treatment I am suggesting he should continue the treatment and to be observed criticality a nephrologist specialist

I hope this helps
