Do Kids With Slow Speaking Ability Require Medical Attention?
Hi , my son is 2 and a half . He goes to daycare, he seems like a very smart boy as he picks up things very fast but my only worry is that alot of my friends children who are his age or younger have already started talking and hes just starting to put words together. Is there something wrong ?
At age 2, most children can say approximately 50 words though all may not be clear.
This however, can vary from one child to the next.
You can consider waiting until he is at least 3 years old, if you remain concerned then discuss your worries with his pediatrician who can assess him and refer him, if necessary to a speech therapist.
I hope this helps
