Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Do Pale Yellow Stools After Starting Octreotide Injections Suggest Cancer?
Started Octreotide self injections last week. My stools are turning pale yellow, instead of my normal brown. Talk, totally pale yellow now. That can be a sign of cancer and liver failure among a long list of things. I have slow growing, very small metastatic thymoma spots on my right pleura. Should I be concerned about Octreotide injections?
The yellow stools are secondary to effects of octreotide injections over pancreatic enzyme levels and not sign of cancer. However, I would request to consult your doctor before consuming further self doses of Octreotide injections.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
