Do Recurring Sore Pimples On Leg Suggest Shingles?
Hello About 2 years ago a pimple formed on my leg on the side. It came to a head but nothing inside. It went away but came back again and again. It has spread a bit. It is sore at times. After sitting awhile it becomes very sore and stiff to walk. Could this be shingles ?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have recurring sore pimples on leg . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like keratosis pilaris , folliculitis , eczema or hives . I would suggest you to keep the site clean and dry , do not apply any cosmetic product , apply only petroleum jelly and take antihistamine like bendryl twice a days . If your are experiencing symptoms like pain, burning , fever or headache then there can be possibility of shingles . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants , anti inflammatory , corticosteroid ointments or antibiotics .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
