Hi,

Incomplete data like age, gender, seizure types diagnosed and the prescribed seizure medicines, any other medications or herbs not mentioned. Of the anti-seizure medications which are commonly prescribed, levetiracetam is known to cause acute kidney injury in patients with a seizure disorder especially when used in larger doses as in your case.

Moreover the prolonged seizure activity can result in rhabdomyolysis (muscle injury) which may also contribute to ongoing kidney injury. Your doctor should monitor the kidney functions closely and if you develop any signs of kidney damage, the levetiracetam should be stopped immediately and an alternate effective but a safer anti seizure medications should be prescribed accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
