Do Shingles Concentrate In One Area Or Spread Out To Different Parts?
Was diagnosed with shingles three weeks ago. The red spots appeared on my lower back. I got anti viral medication within the three days the spots appeared. The rash never reached the blister stage. Now the spots are slowly disappearing but I see some new ones behind my right ear. is the rash supposed to be concentrated in one area or could be spread out? Do I have shingles again? Do I need to take antiviral medication again?
Hi. . welcome to HCM. .. shingles typically affects one dermatomal area.. ie., part distributed by one nerve and it will not spread to other parts. . the rash on the back of your ear could be something different. . Check for any symptoms of shingles there.. as you have already taken antivirals it is most unlikely to be shingles.. hope this information is helpful to you. .take care. . Regards. .
