Do The Cough Suppressants Work Against The Expectorant Of The Guaifenesin?

I have had a bad cold for several days with a deep cough that doesn t produce very much. I purchased Guaifenesin and Hall s cough suppressants tonight. Do the cough suppressants work against the expectorant of the Guaifenesin? I know this is probably basic and silly but I just wanted to know. Thanks!

Dear,
as you said you had bad cough its always better to take antibiotic along with cough suppressant. Along with that do the salt water gargle and avoid cold food like ice cream and cold drinks and drink plenty of warm fluids.
