Hi & Welcome.
Incomplete date like age, gender, purpose of taking these medications, any other medical issues or substance (alcohol) abuse??
Yes, it may cause a harmful interaction if these antidepressants are taken together hence you should not take them together.
Wellbutrin (Bupropion) medication used to treat
major depressive disorder and other conditions can interact with another antidepressant like Anafranil (
Clomipramine) may increase the risk of seizures, which may occur rarely with either medication. You may be more likely to experience seizures with these medications if you are elderly, undergoing alcohol or drug withdrawal, have a history of seizures, or have a condition affecting the
central nervous system such as a brain tumor or head trauma.
In addition, Wellbutrin can increase the blood levels of Anafranil which may increase its side effects like excessive drowsiness, blurring of vision, increased heart beats, dry mouth, constipation,
stomach upset, flushing, & sweating.
Consult your
psychiatrist to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications.
Hope these answer your queries.
