Does Bactrim Kill Strep?
I have sinusitis all winter long. I just started teaching in an elementary school. I seem to get stuffed and a sore throat, despite the fact my Dr. prescribed Bactrim. Does Bactrim kill strep as the school I am now in has a lot of cases of strep?

bactrim is usually effective against streptococcus. Despite that bactrim cannot be considered as a first-line option against any type of streptococcal infection. For streptococcal pharyngitis the most appropriate option is penicillin-V unless there is suspicion for resistant streptococci. In any case, your doctor should be consulted before taking any drug.
