Yes, cortisone shots can cause high blood sugar levels. However, your body should be able to correct this unless you are diabetic.
Have you been checked for diabetes?
In my practice, I would first check to see if you are diabetic by a simple blood test. If you are diabetic, I would seek to regularize your blood sugar before giving you the cortisone shot.
If you are not diabetic, I would not worry about the temporary rise in blood sugar as your body quickly corrects it.
