Does Coversyl Affect One S Libido?

Hi, I am a man, 66 years old, taking Coversyl 5 mg each day to lower my high blood pressure, as prescribed by my doctor. My question is: 1- What is the effect of Coversyl on my sex life 2- Does it have any effect if taken with Cialis 40 mg 3- When and how can I discontinue taking this medicine

Hallow Dear,

I have read your question and have understood your concern.

Coversdyl is a medicine which contains perindopril. It is a medicine of ACE inhibitor type. It is used to treat high blood pressure, heart problems, etc. Its effect on diminution of libido has not been mentioned in the literature. However, it is known to cause tiredness and fatigue. In tired and fatigued state, it is very difficult to have libido. Do you have any other stress which may affect your sexual desire?

Cialis is a medicine used to achieve penile erection in cases of erectile dysfunction. It contains Phosphodiesterase. You have to be really cautious while taking these type of medicines since they may cause heart problems, particularly if you are on any medicines containing nitrites. You are a patient of high blood pressure. So take this medicine only if your physician permits after assessing your health and medicines you are taking.

Discontinuing Coversyl will entirely depend upon the control on your blood pressure. This advice also should be taken from your physician. Frankly, most of those who are having essential hypertension, have to take antihypertensive medicines throughout the life.

If your physician allows you to take Phosphodiesterase group of medicines and your sexual problem is only related to erectile dysfunction, you should find a good remedy to your sexual problem. Please understand that if there is desire for sex and erectile dysfunction does not allow to perform, then only Phosphodiesterase work. If sexual instinct does not arise in the brain, these medicines will not act.

I hope I have clarified your ideas about your sexual problem and the related medicine. For any further information, you may contact me on nishikants@gmail.com
