Does Ercefuryl Help Cure Severe Diarrhea?

I have severe diarrhoea, a friend from Greece has suggested I take Ercefuryl rather than Imodeum. I have asthma and am allergic to penycilin and erythromycin. Should I take it? Or better to stick with Imodeum? I ve had severe diarrhoea for 4hours now and am worried about how dehydrated I am getting so want to stop it

Hello,

That Ersefuryl is an antibiotic and it is used in the treatment, control, prevention of infective diarrhea through killing the bacteria which have caused diarrhea.

So yes it will be effective in your diarrhea if it is infective but it will not help stop it immediately and as you are so much dehydrated, the first thing you should do is start drinking more water and juices to keep you hydrated.

For the time being you should take Imodium to stop the diarrhea as soon as possible.
