I have type 2 diabities and have been on a new medication for about 1 week it is called glyburide dosage is 2.5 MG the first day i took it my blood sugar went down to 65 and after 3 glucose tabs and a peanutbutter sandwich it went up to 90-i i have been feeling poorly since this medication and my blood sugar level seem to be more erratic, should i stop this medication, am planning on calling doctor for an appointment tomrrow.
Dear sir/madam i can understand your concern in my opinion this medication glyburide is not a good option as it well known for its excessive stimulation of pancreatic beta cells to produce excessive amounts of insulin and also causes severe low sugars.
This medication is also associated with cardiac related side effects.
There are new alternative available in market called DPP 4 inhibitors which are safe and are having a very low incidence of hypoglycemia.
kindly discuss with your doc for further analysis
regards
