Does Ibuprofen Cause Hives And Lip Swelling?

I was recently taking penicillin and ibuprofen for a tooth infection. The other morning I developed a swollen upper lip. I took benadryl and it went away. I stopped the penicillin. The next morning I took ibuprofen and broke out in hives and my lower lip swelled. I stopped taking ibuprofen. This morning I woke up and broke out in hives again. Could the medicine still be in my system. I also have a fatty liver. Could that be causing the hives or the medicine.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query.Either penicillin or ibuprofen can be allegic. As you got hives again after taking ibuprofen it can be suspected. If you have taken penicillins before you can exclude that also. For such cases i advise benedril or cetirizine for oral intake and calamine lotion for local application for soothing effect. For those who having severe itching and hives i give corticosteroids also for short term.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
