Does Imiquimod Cream Cause Red Spots, Burning And Itching?

I am using Imiquimod Cream 5% on my face I have ued the cream for 12 days and my forehead has a number of red spots, almost looks like measles and I do have a few on my cheeks. My forehead does burn and itch but using hand lotion helps. I am off the cream for 2 weeks and will do the 2nd round of treatment for 12 days and that will be the end of it. My question is, will my face go back to normal?

Hello,
Thanks for your query.
Yes, it causes red spots, burning and itching.
Also, changes in skin colour may occur and may not go away. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor. If the skin reaction is severe, imiquimod may need to be temporarily stopped so that the skin can heal.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
