hi, my husband has an ulcer in his intestine. he started taking Lansoprazole 2 days ago. all is well but his stool is almost black. should he stop the medication? and what in this medication causes the stool to become black and almost very lose?! thanks
Black stools might be a sign of bleeding from the stomach or small intestines. Lansoprazole doesnot cause blackening of stool. Was the ulcer diagnosed by endoscopy. If not he might need a endoscopy. Please consult a gastroenterologist ASAP.
