Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Have a 27 year old son who was diagnosed as bipolar1 about 7 tears ago. has a history of severe mania and missed state re-occurring on a 3-4 week cycle. Was on 30mg Zyprexa 2 weeks ago and Lamictal. Had to stop Lamistal due to rash and the doctor dropped his Zyprexa to 20mg. Of course severe mania returned within a few days. Was put on 40 Latuda about a week ago and doctor upped the Zyprexa back to 30 but he is now in mixed state. Doctor wants to double the Latuda but son thinks it might be what is causing the mixed state and negative feelings. Any experience with Latuda and increasing mania or mixed state?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, right now what the symptoms a patient has due to maniac disorders only and it is nothing to take anything with the changes made in the dosage of medicines, if the symptoms are not responding to medicines then better to have word with doctor or you can go for second opinion, hope this information helps.
